ABOUT THE ROLE:
As General Manager you will provide day-to day leadership and drive the commercial performance of the company. Sitting at the intersection of people, finance, operations and business development, this role ensures the agency operates smoothly and profitably while continuing to grow through strong client relationships and new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Business & Financial Management
· Own and manage the financial performance of the agency, including P&L, budgets, forecasting and reporting.
· Work with the founder to drive sustainable growth and profitability.
· Monitor project margins, utilisation and resourcing efficiency.
· Implement financial and operational controls that support scale.
Operations and Delivery
· Lead day-to-day operations across business development, company culture and overall drive of the business.
· Ensure work is delivered on time, within budget and to an exceptional standard.
Business Development and Growth
· Drive business growth through a combination of new client acquisition and organic growth within existing accounts.
· Build and maintain senior-level relationships with clients, partners and industry contacts.
· Identify opportunities for additional services, cross-selling and extended client engagements.
· Support and strengthen pitch processes, proposals and commercial negotiations.
· Collaborate closely with founders and senior team to shape the agencies growth strategy and market positioning.
People and Culture
· Lead and support team members.
· Cultivate a high- performing and respectful workplace culture.
· Provide clarity regarding roles, accountability and expectations.
· Conduct performance management with fairness and discretion.
Client & Partner Relationships
· Work with company directors to support and nurture key client relationships
· Ensure client expectations align with internal capability and sustainability
· Provide commercial oversight on major accounts and long-term partnerships.
Strategic Leadership
· Partner with the founders to define and drive the long-term business strategy and direction.
· Help position the agency for future expansion, new offerings or new markets.
· Transform strategic objectives into clear, practical steps that can be executed successfully.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
In this role you will be a part of a talented and highly respected creative and production agency, that has been delivering end-to-end advertising campaigns for some of Australia’s most recognisable brands for over 30 years. You will work across local and global markets, partnering with clients in Australia, New Zealand, the USA, and Europe, while being immersed in a culture that values strong relationships, clear thinking, and exceptional standards. Externally, you will be responsible for developing and sustaining strong client relationships, nurturing existing clients and driving new business opportunities with prospective clients.
Internally, you will be the go-to person, supporting and enabling teams to achieve their best outcomes, while collaborating closely with the founder to shape strategy and identify new growth opportunities.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
This is a senior leadership role for someone who understands how creative and production businesses really function or someone who has the desire to learn and the ability to adapt quickly. You will bring commercial discipline, high emotional intelligence and a natural ability to identify, shape and convert growth opportunities- while protecting creative culture and maintaining client trust. You will be someone who is equally comfortable reading people, reading the room, and reading a balance sheet.

· Credibility within an advertising, creative, media or production company is highly advantageous
